COVID-19 & Drinking Water

Your water is safe to drink.

Your water is safe to drink and available.

The Consortium’s water provider members are committed to providing safe and reliable drinking water to their customers every day. This includes testing for and treating your drinking water for viruses such as COVID-19. You cannot catch COVID-19 from your tap water.

Here in Oregon, water providers must meet state and federal water quality requirements. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) have rules in place to ensure that your tap water is safe to drink.

Water is essential.

Water is an essential service and water provider staff are essential too. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, your water provider has continued to provide water service every hour of every day. Water is integral to public health and safety, so water quality is a top priority. If you have concerns about your tap water, learn more about water quality or reach out to your water provider.
